Long Island Elementary School is a public prek-5 school.

We accept tuition students. This is a public school that accepts students from outside districts.

Learning starts after students board the ferry at Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal. While many students spend their time on a bus, Long Island students use the ocean and the ferry as their classroom during their 40 minute commute to Long Island.

Long Island Elementary provides a small student-to-teacher ratio. Field trips, community engagement and project based learning set Long Island Elementary School apart from the rest. Our nationally ranked teachers build the island and oceans into the curriculum and utilize these settings for scientific inquiry and investigations. Students receive a personal and individualized education plan and are given opportunities that are less possible in larger school settings.

We are a public school accepting tuitioned students. Tuition to the Long Island School is $5000, which is significantly less expensive than many private schools in the area.
