Dear Prospective Long Island Elementary Students and Families,

Thank you for your interest in Long Island Elementary School, a preK-5 school located on an unbridged island accessible by a 40-minute ferry ride from Portland, ME. 

Its unique location and small class sizes provide a personal and individualized learning experience.

Our tuition program is available by application to non-Long Island residents in grades kindergarten through five.  Tuition is set at $8,500 for the 2026-2027 school year with a sibling rate of $7,500.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.  However, for students to start in the fall, priority deadline for all materials to be submitted is August 17, 2026.

Admission decisions are based on a number of factors including space availability in each class, availability of appropriate educational programs and services, long-term commitment to the school, and teacher recommendations.
